Maddy and Harry's Southern Swing - year two!!!!

OK, Maddy and I did the first version of the Southern Swing last year in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.  It was quite an amazing trip where we devoted ourselves to a few things:
-Civil War
-Civil Rights
-Barbecue
-Minor League Baseball

This year, we're doing a follow-up version of the tour, in southern GERMANY.  I should rig up a map, but don't feel like it right now.  On this trip we will pass through the following places:
-Munich
-Nuremberg
-Rothenburg
-Heidelberg
-Baden-Baden
-Strasbourg (it was German once)
-Freiburg

Basically, we're Burgers!  We might hit a couple of castles in there.

This year, as with last, we have several foci:
1) German History
2) Germany/Europe today
3) German beer

To elaborate:
-German History.  Maddy is a Medieval Studies major, focusing on France but it all blends together.

-Germany today.  Given the events that have taken place in the last year (Brexit, Trump, on-going religious issues world-wide), it feels right to take the pulse of a country that (at least in my opinion) is acting like actual adults (although France with Macron is in that camp, again in my opinion).

-German beer.  What else is there to say.  It's mother's milk.  This being said by one of 100% English descent.  While a pint of bitter always has a place in my heart (as well as kidneys/bladder), there's nothing quite like Bavarian beer in Bavaria.  Again, mother's milk.

On that note, here is our first photo from the trip.  Waiting for lunch of elk meat (Maddy) and Nuremberg sausages (me) while enjoying a glass of Weiss bier (Maddy) and Helles (me) at a restaurant in Munich.  It's important to hydrate after a trans-Atlantic flight!!!!!!!!
